Contours
2015

Contours is a furniture collection inspired by maps, produced in birch plywood with a standardised construction logic. Designed in collaboration with surface designers Bespoke Atelier and laser and CNC studio Flux, for a spring 2015 exhibition in The Lighthouse, Glasgow, Scotland’s centre for design and architecture.

Each piece can be transported or stored flat-packed and is easily assembled/disassembled in minutes, using minimal fixings and no adhesives. The surface of the wood, glass and upholstery was printed with patterns inspired by wind and rain maps, while the overall forms and structures were inspired by Ordnance Survey maps of the Scottish Highlands.
