A Tenement in Lockdown
2021

Four postcards created for the Interior Archipelago project.

During the COVID lockdowns, learning a new craft was a welcome distraction and form of escapism from the anxieties and uncertainties resulting from the pandemic. Craft also in many cases allowed for improvements to be made to the interior environments in which we were largely confined during those times.

My approach to the Interior Archipelago project was to challenge myself to learn four crafts, one shown in each of the four postcards submitted.

The patchwork quilted living room, woven kitchen, marbled bathroom and iced gingerbread bedroom are motifs representing my coronavirus world, the four rooms of a traditional Glasgow tenement flat.
